Artist Bio
Daisy Dickens is an artist mostly working in textiles and ceramics and exploring the ecosystem of biomaterials, to explore themes such as decay, nature, the body, sensation and materiality. Daisy graduated from the University of Reading in 2023 with a joint BA honors in Art and Psychology, and now is based in South East London, with a shared ceramic studio space in Deptford. Daisy works for the Paul Mellon Centre, a research centre and educational charity for British Art, in the operations team. She has experience in teaching workshops catered to both young people and adults, and has had held a residency position in Reading College, working in the ceramics and printmaking studios from 2021-23. Daisy has shown work and curated art exhibitions in Reading, Oxford and London, with a new group exhibition coming to East London in the later part of 2025.

Ephemeral Ooze, residency project at Everybody Arts Gallery, Halifax, West Yorkshire. 26th August – 6th September 2025. Works created and displayed with a focus on using biomaterials in a visual arts practice.
Sip n’ Scrunch crochet scrunchie workshop part of Craft & Craft at Badger Badger, Deptford, hosted on the 28th of May, 2024. Taught basic crochet stitches used to create a scrunchie.
Art and Design National Saturday Club at Reading College, October 2022-July 2023. Teaching a group of 13-16-year-olds, in basic art practices. Including showing work in Central Saint Martins, and Somerset House.
Crisis Art Workshop at the Old Fire Station, Oxford. 9th of December, 2022. Participating in a Q&A session, alongside Tom McIntyre, about the body of work, Primary Conditions. Then facilitating in an art class, inspired by techniques used in Primary Conditions.
Artist in residency at Reading College, from November 2021-July 2023. Aiding in the upkeep/running of workshop spaces within the college, and utilising the facilities for my own artistic practice.
